Spunky Spu vs Tartans (WIN 2-1)

Firstly I would like to thank my Assistant Coach Liz and my fitness trainer Jenny for all their hard work and effort throughout the year as could not have been able to coach both teams without them. A great year not only for the Tigon Talons and the Spunky Sputniks but for all of RSL. The Spunky Sputiks! With a mixtrue fo players form 2nd grade and thrird grade in 2007 we had a very strong team from the beginning of the season. Not just winning games but winning usually by 5 or 6 goals. Throughout the whole season we kept winning with the help of our talented 3rd graders, through hard work we won the minor premiership undefeated. The semi finals was played well with some controlled play and we won easily. The Grand final was a bit different. We had 2 Tartan umpires playing an Tartan team, a team of talented and nice young ladies unfortunaltely 1 Tartan umpire was out to beat us and 1 Tartan umpire was out to watch her do it, was an absolute disgrace when playing in a grand final. It was not fair for us as well as the opposing team. In extra time we eventually won 2-1 which we total deserved. I wold like to thank you for your commitment and hope to see you all in 2009.
On a final note I would like to say how proud off all of you girls in 2nd and 3rd grade as you have made a very difficult year for me a lot bettr than I could have imagined as a coach.
As a Vice President of RSL Cronulla Hockey it has made me extrememly proud of all our junior players winning 3 minor premiers and 3 major premierships, undefeated and all our girls and boys doing their best and how can I forget about 2 of our 3 senior teams winning thier Major premiership a great effort. 5 teams out of 10 teams winning their grand finals and 3 junior teams undefeated.
What a year!
